Sometimes, living in Africa can be challenging. Access to some of life’s basics may feel daunting. Water might not flow regularly. Electricity may keep up its on-and-off dance. There are no parks in the towns or cities where you can rest and watch gulls wade in a pond, easing your anxiety. Should I go on listing the challenges? No, it’s enough.

The young and restless dream of faraway lands where life seems stable and everything appears to be figured out. On TV, we see lush countryside and smoothly run systems while we struggle in the depths of our chaos.

To go or not to go is the daily dilemma of the youth.
