Memorable Stories: Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman in The Shawshank Redemption

By fiifi DZANSI

Certain movies get you stuck in your seat long after you watch them.

The plot ring in your ears and flood your dreams for weeks.

You know, such stories made to be eternal.

For me, it’s The Shawshank Redemption. After watching the 1994 classic, I felt too overwhelmed with emotions. I remained on the couch for a while.

Then I watched it again and again, rewinding and forwarding so I could learn the words. Morgan’s narration is legendary.

Memorable stories make you fall in love with them and become part of your life.

Also, memorable stories are laden with adversity and acts of heroism.

A brand story works similarly.

Include challenges and successes in your story and relate them in a very compelling manner.

Never exaggerate your fact to heighten the dramatic effects.

Speak the truth.

Take as an example.

Q: Why did you start?

A: It began in my bedroom.

Q: Why did you start?

A: Well, I wanted to provide footwear for kids in rural areas at a very affordable rate.

Q: What challenges did you face?

A: I was still in high school, and I had no money…

If your story is intriguing, people will stop to listen.
