Building New Ojobi’s First Public Library: A Marathon for Learning

Hello,

I am reaching out to share an exciting initiative that aims to bring the power of reading and learning to New Ojobi in the central region of Ghana, and neighboring towns including Buduatta and Dabanyin. Our town and neighboring areas currently lack a public library—a vital resource that can transform lives and open doors of opportunity for our children and families.

Our Story So Far
In my living room in New Ojobi, I’ve started a small lending library where local children can borrow books to read at home. The joy in their eyes when they discover new stories and the eagerness with which they return for more books has shown me just how much our community needs and wants access to books and learning resources.

The Vision
We dream of creating more than just a collection of books—we envision a community space where:

  • Children can discover the benefits of reading
  • Students can access educational resources
  • Families can gather to learn and grow together
  • Everyone can have free access to knowledge and information
  • Young minds can explore new worlds through books and computers

The Marathon Challenge
To turn this dream into reality, I am training to participate in a series of marathons across the country, dedicating each step to raising funds for our community library. Every mile run will represent another step toward building this essential resource for our community.

Join Us for a Community Meeting
Time, date, and location for our community meeting will be announced on our WhatsApp channel. We’ll discuss our vision, share ideas, and plan next steps together.

Remember, every book we add, every Cedi we raise, and every supporter we gain brings us closer to our goal of creating a vibrant community library. This is more than just a collection of books—it’s an investment in our community’s future.

Together, we can build a legacy of learning that will benefit generations to come.

With hope and determination,
Fiifi Džansi.
