Embracing Life’s Twists and Turns

The MAZE WAZE Typeface is inspired by the Adinkra symbol called Nkyinkyim.

Nkyinkyim, a powerful Adinkra symbol, embodies the essence of ‘twisting’ and serves as a reflection of the intricate dance of life’s ups and downs, zigs and zags. To navigate life’s challenges, one must possess the qualities of resilience, adaptability, and creativity.

In developing this distinctive and bold font, I drew inspiration from the symbol’s thick strokes that twists in a never-ending journey. The result is a captivating display typeface that intricately weaves a beautiful African pattern throughout the design.
